Callen Douglas, instructor, director, and owner of Evolution Dance Company, began dancing at the age of 3 and joined a competitive team at the age of 6. Callen won several awards in her dance career and received many collegiate scholarships. She attended New York’s Joffrey Ballet and studied under several talented instructors during her time with the program. She began teaching dance at the age of 16 and quickly realized that it was her passion. She pursued her dream of teaching and performed in New York with her collegiate team, and later graduated with her degree in dance. Mrs. Callen started a competitive dance program at EDC in 2020 that has continued helping talented young athletes grow in their confidence and skills.
Stephanie is from Friendswood, TX where she grew up dancing competitively both in studio and on her high school drill team at Friendswood High School. She was an officer and ensemble member on her team, in addition to being involved in numerous other extra curricular activities. After graduating from FHS, she attended Blinn College in Brenham, TX where she was on the dance team, served as Captain, won three NDA Championships with her team, and was named a NDA All American. After graduating from Blinn, Stephanie transferred to Sam Houston State University. While at SHSU, she was on Orange Pride Dance Team where she was on the winning NDA Nationals team for both of her years on the team. After graduating from SHSU with her Bachelors in Kinesiology, Stephanie moved back to Houston where she began her journey as a high school dance teacher, Assistant Director of dance teams, and continued as a choreographer, teacher and instructor. Stephanie has been teaching dance since high school and has worked at numerous studios, tumbling gyms, intensive companies, choreographed for many high schools, and is a senior staffer with Crowd Pleasers Dance. She is beyond excited to be teaching with Evolution Dance Company this summer and cannot wait to train the next generation of young dancers and athletes.
Angel Guerrero, a native of Austin Texas, has been engaged in dance instruction since the age of 16, amassing five years of teaching experience. Presently in the concluding semester of his Associate Degree program in Fine Arts at San Jacinto College South Campus, he is poised to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Dance at the University of Sam Houston State University. Subsequently, he intends to undertake a Master's Degree in Dance. Angel has garnered numerous national awards during his competitive tenure, a testament to his skill and dedication.
Angel has had the distinction of collaborating with esteemed choreographers and dance companies, including Noble Motion Dance Company and San Jacinto College Dance Company. Notable figures with whom he has worked with and learned from include Jamie Williams, Jennifer Salter, Cynthia Garcia, Travis Lake, Callen Douglas, Dionne Noble, and Elijah Gibson, among others.
During his Associate Degree studies, Angel has authored several choreographic works, one of which, titled "Perlas," was recently featured in the American College Dance Association Gala, earning acclaim. He has graced the stages of prestigious events such as the American College Dance Association and the Latinx Contemporary Dance Festival, as well as the Wortham Theater, where he performed in a piece choreographed by Elijah Gibson.
Angel's proficiency spans a diverse range of dance styles, encompassing jazz, modern, contemporary, jazz funk, swing, ballet, and more. In addition to his passion for dance, Angel possesses an interest in filmmaking and photography. In his leisure time, he dedicates himself to crafting creative films that offer insights into his life or explore themes with an artistic lens.
Lysabeth started out dancing at the age of 7 and continued her dance education there until the age of 14. Lysabeth was apart of the award winning teams and traveled all across Houston competing and conventions. Lysabeth continued on to the dance at Clear Creek High School and was on the Clear Creek Cavaliers dance team for 4 years and served as a Jr.Lieutenant her 3rd year and as 1st senior lieutenant her 4th. Along with continuing her studio training at Evolution Dance Company. Lysabeth then furthered her education to Blinn Junior College where she majored in Business. She was also a team member of the Blinn College treasure dance team where she became a 2X NDA national champion and served as a Sophomore Representative. Lysabeth continued on her dance education at Sam Houston for a small period of time and was apart of the award winning orange pride dance team and in the dance program. During this time she had the opportunities to assist choreographers all around the Houston area. Currently she works at dance company, Ascension Dance, and is also the assistant director at Evolution Dance Company. She continues to share her passion through her kids she teaches and choreography.
Chamberlyn has danced since she was 3 years old and started dancing competitively when she was 7. She was on the Clear Lake Flairs and was a Junior Lieutenant her Junior year and Captain her Senior year. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. While there, she choreographed and taught dance classes at a local dance studio. She is now in Occupational Therapy school at UTMB and is so excited to teach and choreograph again!
Molly has been a Dance Choreographer and Educator for 16 years and has been a dancer for 25 years. Her journey actually began with Baton Twirling, but she quickly found out that her true love was for dance. She started competing at the age of 4 and has not stopped. She trains in as many styles of dance as possible and wants to learn everything she can about this art form. She has trained in hip hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, tap, jazz funk, bachata, housing, popping, heels, flexibility, lyra, pole, improvisation, dance therapy, Bollywood, and more. In High School, Captain of her Dance team her senior year. She joined crowd pleasers staff right after graduation, where she traveled and taught at schools throughout Texas. Her first year of college was at University of North Texas, Denton. She transferred to Texas State University to complete her education the next year. While she was in school, she taught at San Antonio Dance Academy and Central Texas Ballet Conservatory full time. During that time, she began to expand her teaching experience as a freelance choreographer. She taught at multiple schools and studios throughout Texas. She also danced on an adult Hip Hop crew called Illovation. They won many competitions, such as World Of Dance, and did many performances and workshops throughout Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, specializing in Choreography and Performance. After graduation, she began teaching at Soundbox Studios until she moved to Los Angeles, California. While in LA, she landed a work-study position at the world famous Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio in North Hollywood, California. She learned so much about to commercial dance industry and trained under LA’s finest dance instructors. She also did character work with Universal Studios in her time in LA. She moved back to Houston in 2016 to further her teaching career and education in dance. She began teaching at Elite Dance Academy, She’meka Ann’s Studio( Houston location) and Athletistry Performing Arts Center full time. She currently trains with Garage 713 Crew in hip hop and other street and improv styles well. Molly has since received Outstanding Choreography awards for numerous pieces and styles at competitions and conventions throughout the years. She is certified in Aerial Yoga and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). Her hobby when she is not dancing is to learn Aerial Art such as Lyra and Pole, as well as, makeup and modeling. She recently discovered her true calling for dance. She wants to use Dance Therapy as a way to help people feel confident in their own skin. Molly will continue to dance as long as she is able. She feels extremely lucky to have found what she loves at such a young age. Molly loves her craft and more than anything, loves sharing it with others.
